Phuket Motorbike Rental: What Local Shops List (Oct 2026)

📍 Phuket 🏷️ vehicles 📅 October 25, 2026

Most guides to renting a scooter in Phuket repeat the same advice. This one looks at something more specific: what the Phuket rental companies that list on Tukitini offer, according to their own listings. As of 25 October 2026 there are three motorbike rental listings in Phuket on the site. The numbers are small, but they show what a renter can expect to find, and which questions are still worth asking before handing over money.

Where the shops are

Two of the three companies list branches, and the third delivers to your hotel. Chang Thai Rentals lists five branches: Phuket Airport, Mai Khao, Bang Tao, Chalong and Phuket Town. PMR lists branches at Bangtao, Chalong, Mai Khao and the airport. Motorbike Rental Phuket does not list branches and instead delivers to hotels anywhere on Phuket.

The listed branches are at the airport, in Mai Khao in the north, at Bang Tao on the west coast, in Chalong in the south and in Phuket Town. Patong, Karon and Kata are not among the listed branches, so if you are staying there, delivery is likely to be the easier option. Ask the company how long delivery takes to your area.

What bikes are on offer

The fleets overlap a lot. All three companies list the Honda Click 125 and Click 160, the Honda Scoopy, the Honda ADV 160 and ADV 350, and the Honda Forza 350. Two of them also list the Yamaha NMAX, and Chang Thai Rentals and PMR list the Honda PCX. One company says its scooters are 2024 to 2025 models.

For most visitors the choice comes down to three groups:

Pick the smallest bike that comfortably fits the riding you plan to do. Phuket's hills and traffic are harder than they look on a map.

Prices: ask, because none are listed

None of the three listings publishes a price. One mentions daily, weekly and monthly rentals and another promises "best prices", but none gives a figure, and we have not added any. When you ask for a quote, ask for:

Getting the answers in writing, for example in the WhatsApp chat, makes it easier to sort out any disagreement when you return the bike.

Delivery, deposits and passports

Delivery terms differ. Motorbike Rental Phuket says delivery to your hotel is free on every rental. Chang Thai Rentals and PMR offer free delivery on rentals of three days or more.

On deposits, only Chang Thai Rentals makes a clear statement: it says it never holds your passport as a deposit. The other two listings do not say what deposit they take. If you want to keep your passport with you, ask before you book what deposit the shop takes instead.

Insurance and helmets

The listings mention insurance in different ways. One says its fleet is "fully insured", one says "government insurance included", and one does not mention insurance. These phrases can mean different things, so ask exactly what is covered: damage to the bike, theft, injury to you, and damage to other people or vehicles. Ask too what you would pay yourself in each case. One company says a helmet comes free with every rental. Whatever the listing says, check that the helmet fits and has a working strap before you ride off.

Licences

PMR's listing asks you to send a photo of your passport and licence to book. Whether your licence is valid for riding a motorbike in Thailand, and whether your insurance covers riding, are questions to confirm with the official source and with your insurer before you rent.

A short checklist before you ride away

You can see the current listings on the Phuket motorbikes page, or open each company's listing to contact them directly. Tukitini does not take bookings or payments; you deal with the shop itself.
